Keep you cool company. |Strategy for Drinking Tea in Summertime.

Dog Days (San Fu) are the hottest 3 periods in the year, and we have entered the first period this week, lasting for 40 days.

“Great Heat” in the 24 solar terms is one of the San Fu periods.

Apart from the help from “Sang-Fu-The” (a traditional Chinese topical prescription), it is also good to have a bottle of iced tea in summertime.

To brew tea in summertime, we focus on low-temperature brewing to bring out the best of “refreshing taste of tea”.

Yoshantea Tea Culture House has made a debut of Cold-Brewed Tea on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the summer holiday (7/31-9/20). A 3-day reservation prior to the pick-up is available.

For the first month, we have prepared Fresh High Mountain Oolong Tea, Roasted High Mountain Oolong Tea, Oriental Beauty and Sun Moon Lake Assam Black Tea.

The below is the recipe for the cold-brewed tea. You can also try to make it at home.

- Strategy No. 1 A Taste of Simple and Straightforward.

Choice of Tea: Fresh High Mountain Oolong Tea, Roasted High Mountain Oolong Tea, Oriental Beauty or Sun Moon Lake Assam Black Tea.

Amount of Tea: 1 gram tea leaves: 100ml water.

Brewing Time: 2 hours or above.

Brewing Instruction: Use low-temperature water, such as room temperature or below room temperature, and put into the fridge to let it brew.

Tea ware: large and have no heat preservation, volume being large then 300ml is suggested.

Taste Results: Simply fresh and sweet.

Aroma Results: High Mountain Oolong Tea-fresh fruit aroma, Roasted High Mountain Oolong Tea- chill nutty aroma, Oriental Beauty-gourd with honey. Sun Moon Lake Assam Black Tea- aiyu jelly aroma.

- Strategy No. 2 Add Bubbles.

Adding some bubbles into our tea will bring a much stronger and more active texture from the carbonic acid gas which brings out the tea aroma from your nose.

If you have a soda maker at home, simply use it to insert the bubbles after the cold-brewed tea is made.

If you do not have a soda maker, use hot-brew method to make the tea, put it into the fridge, and then add the sparkling water bought from the supermarket.

Tips: In order to be able to enjoy a higher level of the strong bubble feeling, try to lower the temperature of all the things you are using, including the sparkling water and the tea ware you use to store the tea.

Attention: Do not put this sparkling tea into a sealed container to avoid any possibility of explosion because there will be high-pressure gas in the tea.

- Strategy No. 3 Make a Twist to the Tea.

Apart from the taste of the tea or the activeness from the bubbles, it could be even more interesting to add a twist to the tea.

Have the cold-brewed tea as your base, adding few slices of lemon would be a good choice.

Choice of Tea: Fresh High Mountain Oolong Tea or Roasted High Mountain Oolong Tea.

Amount of Tea: 1 gram tea leaves: 100ml water.

Brewing Time: 2 hours or above.

Making of Lemon Water: Take a piece of lemon and slice it into thin pieces. Add 300ml of room temperature water and leave it under room temperature or in the fridge for 3 hours.

Tea ware: large and have no heat preservation, volume being large then 300ml is suggested.

Brewing Instruction: Use low-temperature water, such as room temperature or below room temperature, and put into the fridge to let it brew. Add 100ml of lemon water after 2 hours.

Taste Results: Simply sour, fresh and sweet.
