Elite Heritage Store | Tea is a business that can last for generations

Hello everyone,

I’m Andy, a tea enthusiast.

“Passing down through generations” is often the opening phrase in many tea industry introductions.
This is no easy task.
According to research, the average lifespan of a company today is seven years.
Traditional businesses often rely on succession by the next generation.
However, if the descendants lack interest or there are no descendants at all,
the life of the business could come to an end.

Even if there are successors,
can they shoulder the heavy responsibility?
Is communication with the previous generation smooth?
These are further challenges.
As a result, many “second-generation succession” courses have emerged.
In fact, these courses should involve the previous generation as well.

Modern people are increasingly smart.
If family businesses create an enviable work environment,
I believe many will naturally want to take over.
Family businesses can be a double-edged sword.
In times of crisis, everyone pitches in without hesitation.
In times of wealth, disputes over inheritance are not uncommon.

What family businesses should preserve is their “philosophy.”
Mars Inc. is a great example.
While it’s impressive to see a business passed down through many generations,
the key lies in what changes the current generation brings to the company.

Regardless of how many generations we span,
we can hardly compare with “Kongo Gumi,”
a company established in 578 AD with over 1,400 years of history, passed down through 40 generations.

We’re thrilled that Yoshantea has been recognized as an “Elite Heritage Store.”
We will continue to work hard
to carry on tea traditions in ways that fit modern lifestyles.

I hope you found this little piece of knowledge helpful.
See you next time!
