2025 Spring Tea Update

2025 Spring Tea Update

Hello everyone,

This is Andy, a tea enthusiast.

The year 2025 is the Year of the Snake (Yi Si) in the lunar calendar. It is also a leap year, with an extra sixth lunar month, making a total of 384 days.

Interestingly, there are two “Start of Spring” (Lichun) solar terms this year:

• The first falls on February 3, 2025 (the sixth day of the first lunar month),

• The second falls on February 4, 2026 (the seventeenth day of the twelfth lunar month).

As a result, spring tea harvesting has been delayed by about two weeks.

For example, Jin Xuan tea, which is usually harvested in early March,

only began to be picked at the end of March this year.

Here are some features of 2025 spring tea:

• More rainfall and cooler temperatures compared to previous years.

• Due to the delayed solar terms, tea factories with limited space may face production bottlenecks.

• The tea flavor is refreshing and naturally sweet.

Just wanted to share this latest update with everyone.

I’m heading up to the mountains now—

See you next time!
